Website Changes

I'm in the process of updating my life and blogs, in that order. My two blogs will have some massive changes.. hopefully soon. Until then I got rid of my stupid affiliate links as well as my Adsense, as they were advertising "get-rich" quick sites and I don't want to be promoting that kind of junk.

Three Strikes in Network Marketing

I try to be a good and kind person and that leads me to trust people. Then someone comes along and takes advantage of that and I get owned. I've been blinded by greed and money the last couple of months. Specifically with Network Marketing. I hate it. I've lost about 5 grand. It's been an expensive lesson. Why did I fall for it you ask? Well, one of the people I thought I respected... Rich Dad, Poor Dad author recommends network marketing to "learn" from, being the gullible kid that I am I went for it.

Anyway I joined three network marketing programs... scams.

First strikeGlobalWon: It's a global lottery system, my amateur "due diligence" thought oh sounds like a good idea... $2500 down the drain with $250 ROI... whoo hoo got 10% of my money back... Yes let's throw money at people and hope for 10% back...

Second strikePhone Power: I thought ooh I can make a quick return on investment with $1,995 down now and make $6,000 after helping six more people into the program, or rather con them into the program.

Third strike ITV Ventures, It's a non-FDA approved supplement business. I thought I can help old people get healthier. ITV Ventures has a 90 day refund, so I'm getting most of it back, awfully nice of them.

In all three network marketing adventures my goal was to help people, but it didn't quite turn out that way. I knew I shouldn't have joined these things, but I was blinded by greed and money. I've heard if it's too good to be true it probably is, but a part of me was like, I know better. Guess I don't.

I've been doing some more research and found some more sites and articles that helped clear up some things for me. There are probably a lot of things in life that I'm going to make mistakes and screw up in, all I can do is try to figure out how to make it right.

All in all I'm through with network marketing, I don't want to con people into making me money. Life isn't a zero sum game and if I want to do business I want all parties to benefit, partners, employees, and customers, or is that too altruistic? I hope not.

Bottom line: Got to think through things, get advice, and make discerning and wise decisions.

I apologize for the harsh tone I just finished reading this blog and it put me in a weird mood, the site has some language and adult oriented discussion: http://www.violentacres.com/
